band "Soul Riders" in 2004 when he also played drums for us in our
Warriors Round 3 debut.
Fritz
Fritz is our drummer. He has played in numerous bands in
Europe
and Australia since he started drumming in Munich in the 60s.
Ian
Ian learnt classical clarinet
aged 14 and
then taught himself to play saxophone. As a teenager in the
60s he
managed his first band
The
Trojans in Birmingham, UK where he acquired
his first acoustic and electric guitars.
After selling his
instruments so he could afford to eat while at University in Leeds, he
set up one of the first mobile discos, entertaining at parties and
small clubs, continuing in London in the early 70s and then Australia. He still
has
all the records.
While teaching in Adelaide he taught himself piano for fun and then
found himself playing vibraphone and sax in a teachers' jazz band.
Inspired by the Australian touring rock show "Long Way to the Top", he
took up guitar again in 2004 and joined the Weekend Warriors program in
Round 3.
There he met Johnny in their first Warrior band,
Soul Riders.
For the next 18 months, he and Johnny played in a regularly changing
line-up with various other Warrior members who remain good friends.
That line-up eventually became the
The
Iron Chefs for a few shows before morphing into
Wis'n Up in 2007.
Darryl
Darryl helped reform Wis'n Up in August 2009. Previously he played lead guitar from mid 2007 to January 2008. He
continues to play the role of one of the Brewster
brothers in the
Angels
cover band
Two Minute
Warning.
Kevin
Kevin joined Ian and John in 2006 for a couple of shows with
their band
The Iron Chefs. He stuck around and after a few personnel changes, that band morphed
into
Wis’n Up.
As well as his Round 9 band
Tina and the Turners,
Kevin also played in
Pretty
Lies,
Two
Minute Warning (Angels tribute band),
The
Cannelloni Cowboys and
